Ayurveda

Ayurveda is India’s traditional, natural system of medicine and oldest system in the world. The origins of Ayurveda go back nearly 5000 years. Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that literally translated means "science of life" Ayurveda conceived and developed by the seers (rishis) and natural scientists through centuries of observations, experiments, discussions, and meditations. For several thousand years their teachings were passed on orally from teacher to student; about the fifth to sixth century BC, elaborately detailed texts were written in Sanskrit.

Ayurveda has a unique perspective on beauty. It is interesting to look back to a time when beauty was defined in holistic terms, and beauty was within every woman's reach. According to Ayurveda, there are three pillars of beauty, Rupam, Gunam and Vayastyag. Rupam, outer beauty, personified by healthy, shining hair and glowing complexion. Gunam, inner beauty, characterized by a warm, pleasing personality and innocence of mind and heart. Vayastyag means lasting beauty, looking, and feeling, younger than your chronological age.
